                                                           About us:

I became the proud owner of my first Birman and became a Birman lover in 1989. She was the most beautiful kitten I had ever seen. In those days the Breeder told me she was a Breeding Queen and was on the Active Register for Breeding. I was only looking for a pet, but, Ok, I had a Breeding Queen!
So I became a small hobby breeder.

I began to research all I could in that first couple of years from the GCCF website
and getting to know other Breeders, visiting cat shows and
enjoying the companionship of like minded people.

I registered my breeding prefix KENDALIAN owned by Angela Orvis (that's me)
in August 1991 and had my first litter.  I was smitten.

I have enjoyed my hobby of breeding and showing for many years.
This hobby has enabled me to meet many lovely people,
some of whom have become life long friends.

I became a founder member of the Lakeland and District Cat Club in 1991,
when a small group of cat fanciers got together
to discuss forming a club from our area, (Kendal).
From those informal cat chats and activities
the Club has grown from strength to strength.

I was also a founder member of the Northern Birman Cat Club
as we hoped that a 'Northern' Birman Breed Club
would enable more breeders 'Up North' to reach their breed shows.
Now the Club has Nationwide popularity.

12 years ago I was joined by my partner Gary, he didn't like cats at first, but soon began to adore them as much as I do.  We were married in 2022, so now I have a double-barrelled surname of Orvis-Jones.  Gary has great ideas for the shows and makes the Best in Show mugs for the Lakeland and District Cat Club Show.
He has also taken the fantastic photos I have on this website.

Enjoy your Kitten and get the Most out of Life!
